  2. 2.The plantain (Musa paradisiaca) contains about 0.3 unit in 1 gram and can be considered as a fair source of the vitamin B, having about the same content as carrots, white potatoes and turnips.
  3. 3.The white and yellow yautias (Xanthosoma) were found to contain 0.6 and 1.0 unit of vitamin B per gram respectively. They are thus good sources of this vitamin, the yellow ranking with canned navy beans and spinach, and being half as potent as raw peas, while the white is about half as potent as the yellow.
