Summary

The superficial scarification of the scapular region is advocated in order to obtain a thin smear of dermal juice which, stained with Giemsa, provides an easy and more accurate means, both quantitatively and qualitatively, of diagnosing malaria parasites as well as the microfilarias of both blood and skin.
