First Record of a Case of Human Infection with Tapeworms of the Genus Mesocestoides

Specimens of Mesocestoides, identified as M. variabilis, are reported from man for the first time. A detailed description of the human specimens is given. The human infection was probably derived from eating the improperly cooked flesh of a wild mammal or possibly a frog.
