Thirty-five cases of brucellosis brought to our laboratory were treated with Brucella antigens prepared from the bacterial bodies by grinding Brucella of the three varieties.
The treatment is aimed to induce only mild or no reactions, either local or general, to desensitize the patients, and at the same time to increase their immune resources.
The results of such treatment are not as striking as some reported by other workers, but a rapid and sustained improvement without severe reactions has been noted. Thus far, no mortality has occurred even in those patients with a rather unfavorable prognosis.
