In view of the fact that intensive malaria eradication projects are being actively engaged in in our South by the Civil Works Administration fostered by our Government to aid the unemployed, it is believed it would be pertinent to point out the prevalence and distribution of malaria in Oklahoma.

The United States Bureau of the Census lists the number of deaths in the state as a whole, including those from malaria. However, that does not give a very clear idea of the situation by means of which one can tell at a glance the conditions within the state. Not all of the seventy-seven counties in the state are affected, in fact, it is a serious problem in less than one-third of them.

Malarial fever as an economic problem in Oklahoma is confined to certain counties in the southeastern part of the state, an area agreeable for residence and exceptionally favorable for agricultural pursuits.
