In sera from patients with fascioliasis the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect antibody using excretory-secretory products (ES) from Fasciola hepatica adult worms. The specificity of ES-ELISA (with OD values > 0.38) allowed the differentiation among fascioliasis, schistosomiasis, clonorchiasis, and other human parasite infections.
