Abstract. A new case of infection with Brugia sp. is recorded from Northern Ohio, increasing the geographical range of this zoonosis, known previously in New England, New York and New Jersey. The patient, a 53-year-old man, had a 7-year history of malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the spermatic cord, for which he received intense chemo- and radio-therapy. The worm found was alive at the time of fixation, allowing a description of the parasite in cross sections.
