Summary

  1. 1. The presence of A. albimanus in the island units of the Caribbean is discussed.
  2. 2. Field observations have now established its absence from the Netherlands Leeward and Windward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, St. Vincent, Barbados, St. Lucia, Martinique, Dominica and St. Kitts. The southernmost point of its distribution in the island chain is established in Marie Galante at latitude 15°53′ N.
  3. 3. In the Caribbean Islands A. albimanus is limited to Guadeloupe (and Marie Galante), Montserrat, Antigua, Nevis, Virgin Islands (St. Croix, St. Thomas and Tortola) and the Greater Antilles.
