Niclosamide was given to 81 patients with tapeworm infection. Forty-seven patients received adequate follow-up, and 46 were cured; 17 of these had previously shown no improvement with quinacrine. Results indicate that niclosamide is a safe, simple, and effective agent against infection with Taenia saginata, Diphyllobothrium latum, and Hymenolepis nana.
