Analysis of saline extracts of adult Schistosoma mansoni by dise electrophoresis demonstrated a heterogeneous mixture of 22 protein, lipoprotein, and glycoprotein components. With differential staining, nine of the protein bands contined lipid, three contained polysaccharide, and 10 contained DNA. The protein patterns obtained by dise electrophoresis were reproducible.
