Summary and Conclusion

A serological response to El Tor vibrios develops in patients during natural infection with El Tor vibrios. The El Tor hemolysin is antigenic. It may be inferred that this is demonstrated by the presence of these neutralizing antibodies in the sera of El Tor cholera patients. The reaction may serve as a tool in retrospective diagnosis.
