Summary

An 18-month-old Negro boy infected with Strongyloides sterocoralis was treated with pyrivinium chloride because of the difficulty in obtaining any other agent in a form that the infant could tolerate. Therapy was successful and was marked by the unusual recovery of an adult female form of this parasite in the patient's stool 48 hours after the drug regimen was initiated.
