Summary

In sixteen cases of lymphogranuloma venereum of the anus, rectum and colon treatment with glucocorticoids promptly diminished purulent rectal discharge, relieved rectal pain and intestinal colic, and reduced constipation. In one case there was total disappearance of the annular rectal stenosis, but in the other cases rectal stenosis remained almost unchanged. Better results were achieved in cases with annular stenosis and rectitis than with tubular stenosis.
