Abstract

The Santa Lucia strain of was transmitted to , , , and monkeys by bite and by intravenous inoculation of sporozoites dissected from , , , , and mosquitoes. The data obtained from these infections indicate that can be considered a suitable host model when combined with the Santa Lucia strain of for the testing of candidate anti-sporozoite and liver stage vaccines.
