snakes belonging to the genus , subfamily , include the species and others. All of them, except for the first 2, are found in North America. , or diamondback rattlesnakes, live in the southwest United States and in Mexico. This paper describes the fractionation of venom in order to isolate and identify its hypotensive agents.
