Abstract

Two leishmanial isolates from dogs from Alexandria, Egypt, were typed serologically and biochemically as . This is the second time that has been shown to occur in dogs. The significance of these findings as a misleading phenomenon in relation to the relatively recent outbreak of infantile kala-azar in the area of Alexandria is discussed.
