Abstract

Abstract

Six cases of human paragonimiasis () are documented from Liberia and Guinea. These are the first cases reported from these countries. Paragonimiasis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of any West African patient who presents with hemoptysis. Praziquantel was used successfully to treat these patients, and may be the drug of choice for infections.
