Abstract

, producing abdominal angiostrongyliasis, is known to occur in humans and/or rodents in the Western Hemisphere, namely in the U.S.A. (Texas), Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela, and Brazil. Rats, , in Colombia were found to harbor the parasite. First-stage larvae from one of these rats developed to third-stage larvae in the slug , also from Colombia.
