This book covers a multitude of specialties on various aspects of man-made lakes and human health. It is an easily readable book and is written in an easy to understand and flowing style. It is divided into four sections under the titles of: Specific Health Problems, Specific Geographic Areas, Specific Ecological Factors and the Human Aspects. The sections contain up to 11 chapters. The 31 chapters are not consistent in their format; the latter depends on the individual contribution which is discussed. A list of references is included at the end of each chapter. Most of the chapters do not strive to be comprehensive in their literature citations. However, what is referred to is adequate enough and represents the most important works on the subject. The contents of some chapters reflect strongly on the Australian residence of the editors and some of the contributors to the book.
