This is one of the series of monographs designed to summarize the evidence for the carcinogenicity of selected series of chemicals to man. The current volume evaluates the carcinogenic risk of individual compounds which have cytostatic and immunosuppressive activities, some of which have been or are used in the treatment of neoplastic and non-neoplastic disorders. Several of the aziridines are also used industrially as chemical intermediates or as cross-linking agents in the manufacture of textiles, and some have been tested as insect chemosterilants.

The agents are described chemically, with regard to formulation, production, use and occurrence and with regard to biological data relevant to the evaluation of carcinogenic risk to man, in terms of animal experiments and, where appropriate, commentaries on epidemiologic studies in man. The format of the summaries is concise and well-organized, each followed by pertinent references.

This is a useful series which should be of interest to individuals who may have occasion to study or use these chemicals.
