Abstract

Two cases of infection were revealed by stool examinations using the formalin-ether sedimentation technique. One infection was acquired in Puerto Rico and probably the second case reported from that region. The patient was an 18-year-old female with complaints of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. However, since infections of and were also present, the symptomology could not be related to alone. The second patient, a 56-year-old male, with complaints of nausea and diarrhea, acquired the infection in México, and was the only pathogenic organism isolated.
