Isolated by the Ibadan Virus Laboratory at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, from serum of adult North Nigerian goat, taken 18 April 1966 at slaughter in Ibadan, Lat. 7° 20′ N, Long. 3° 50′ E. No data. Inoculated into mice the same day.

Serum diluted in bovalbumin solution. Inoculated 0.02 ml ic in 3-day-old mice on 18 April 1966.

Virus reisolated.

Filterable through Seitz EK. No data. Sensitive to 1:100 chloroform; control titer 10, after-treatment titer 10. No hemagglutinin produced in tests with infected suckling mouse brain extracted with sucrose-acetone.

Sabo virus found to be a member of the Simbu group by CF. Shown to be a distinct new member of the group by NT.
