Isolated by R. L. Doherty and colleagues at Queensland Institute of Medical Research from adult female collected 28 to 30 October 1965 in light trap at Mitchell River Mission, North Queensland, Lat. 15° 28′ S, Long. 141° 40′ E. Aboriginal Mission 20 km from Gulf of Carpentaria; altitude 6 meters in low-lying plain; vegetation described as tropical tussock grassland and tropical woodland. Mosquitoes stored on solid CO or in -57°C Revco until tested.

Ground suspension in 10% heated rabbit serum in 0.9% NaCl solution. Inoculated 0.015 ml ic in 1-day-old mice on 2 February 1966.

Virus reisolated.

No data. No data. Sensitive to 50% ether; control titer 10 LD/0.015 ml, after-treatment titer <10.
