Isolated by J. R. Gorham at Lahore, West Pakistan, from pool of adult male and female caught by hand on 7 August 1964 at Manawa, 13 miles east of Lahore, Lat. 31° 32′ N, Long. 74° 30′ E. trees where roost, alluvial plain of Indus River, elevation 800 ft, climate hot and dry. Ticks held alive until inoculated into mice.

Ground suspension diluted in bovine albumin in phosphate-buffered saline solution, pH 7.2. Inoculated 0.01 ml ic in 1-day-old mice on 21 September 1964.

Reisolation not tried.

No data. No data. Sensitive to 1:1,000 sodium deoxycholate (after-treatment titer 10 LD) and chloroform (after-treatment titer 10 LD); control titer >10 LD.
