Abstract

Summary

Comparison of gel-diffusion and hemagglutination showed that antibodies were detected by both techniques in a high proportion of cases of invasive amebiasis. Absorption of sera with sensitized cells, until they were negative in the hemagglutination test, failed to remove the precipitins and confirmed the impression that different antibodies are involved. The simplicity of the precipitin reaction is an advantage.
