Summary

Rats treated with large doses of cortisone acetate were less susceptible to paralysis following challenge with encephalomyocarditis (EMC) virus than were rats previously infected with infection did not affect the weight of spleen, thymus or adrenal glands and is therefore presumed to have had little influence on endogenous corticosteroid secretion.
