Abstract

This publication, far from being a dry and statistical operational report, presents in considerable detail the results of the nutritional research performed in the Nutrition Research Laboratories over a year's time. Included are laboratory studies of protein, iron and vitamin nutrition, nutrition in pregnancy and lactation, the pathology of nutritional disease, and various studies conducted in the field. The scope and variety of the work reported here reflect an active and balanced program of nutritional research in this important area of the world.
