Abstract

Summary

Twenty-seven patients varying in age from 5 to 54 years and suffering from virulent relapsing fever were given a one-day treatment with chloramphenicol. All patients were negative for on the second day, and convalescence was rapid. For the treatment of this disease, chloramphenicol is dramatically and rapidly effective even in small doses.
