Abstract

Summary and Conclusions

The Donaldson strain of malaria, which was recovered from a veteran returning from the Pacific area, has been intensively studied. All available evidence indicates that it belongs to the species, .

This parasite is immunologically distinct from the native malarias, it can be spread by native anophelines, and both Negro and white races are susceptible to infection. This indicates that this species which has never become established in the United States so far as known, could become established under favorable conditions.
