Abstract

Summary

Preliminary studies on the effects of infections in mice gave evidence of an increased liver size, an increased water content of the liver, a decreased oxidative deamination of amino acids, and a failure in ammonia metabolism. These results are discussed in relation to the structural changes in the liver that accompany the infection.
