Abstract

Summary and Conclusions

A case of infestation is reported which had two unusual complications, diabetes mellitus and acute pylephlebitic abscess of the liver. The findings in this case and a review of the literature suggest that glucose tolerance curves may discover the first complication to be more frequent than is believed, since usually only fasting blood sugar levels have been studied and involvement of the pancreas is frequently found in autopsy material. The complication of acute abscess of the liver apparently is unique.
