Summary

  • 1.  Q fever is being reported with increasing frequency in the United States.
  • 2.  Various forms of therapy have been of little benefit.
  • 3.  Experimental work has shown that streptomycin is effective against Q fever in animals.
  • 4.  A case of Q fever with apparent response to streptomycin is reported.
  • 5.  Additional severe cases of Q fever should be treated with streptomycin.
