Abstract

Summary

Experiments are described in which I have attempted to utilize atabrine's ability to retard the rate of growth of asexual forms of in the erythrocytes of infected canaries as a quantitative index of the drug's action. Even with the small dose employed the effect is regularly seen, but before the degree of this retardation is offered as a method by which the drug may be accurately compared with other antimalarial agents I feel it will be necessary to study a range of doses on both sides of the one which has been employed in the present study. Accordingly, the work will be extended and further findings duly reported.
