Abstract

Summary

  • 1.  There is presented a report of an autopsy upon a three-months-old, black male Panama native, the first fatal case of Chagas' disease that has been discovered on the Isthmus of Panama.
  • 2.  In this case in their leishmania forms were numerous in the myocardium and sparse in the brain, and they caused a severe diffuse myocarditis and a widespread focal encephalitis.
