Abstract

Summary

The distance which anopheline mosquitoes can fly is discussed in a general way, with citations from the literature. The first flight-experiment in the Philippines is reported. In this experiment, stained mosquitoes of the malaria-carrying species were liberated, some being recaptured later at various distances from the liberating point. Of the subgroup, var. was recaptured 0.5 kilometer from the liberating point; with 0.9 kilometer of this point, and at 1 kilometer from the point.
