Abstract

This splendid work upon epidemiology, while intended for the Public Health Officer, should be in the hands of all interested in the science of infective diseases. It is a very complete and scholarly treatment of a subject of constantly increasing interest to all physicians and scientists, and one that is so rapidly advancing that the literature devoted to it is becoming too great for the average reader to review. The book contains practically all that has been contributed to epidemiology up to the time that it appeared and nowhere else has the reviewer noted so excellent a presentation of these facts. A careful reading convinces one that the author has taken great pains to concisely and accurately present the contributions of others and his deductions and conclusions from the matter presented are not the least valuable material in the work.

The work comprises sixteen Chapters, a Bibliography, and an Appendix.
