Abstract

Summary

Di-hydranol, a compound belonging to the alkyl resorcinol series, has been employed in the treatment of infections with intestinal protozoa in both man and monkeys. Two preparations of the drug were used, an olive oil solution and an agar block suspension. Both of these proved effective in clearing up infections with pathogenic amoebae and ciliates in monkeys, and in ridding man and monkeys of intestinal protozoa of lesser importance.
