Abstract

For many years Admiral Stitt has been known as the author of texts in which a maximum of information was compressed in a minimum of space. The fifth edition of this well known textbook has departed from this principle to the extent that it is now published as a handsome octavo, with numerous excellent illustrations.

There will undoubtedly be some regret at the passing of the small and handy edition, which should be tempered by the reflection that the present volume is a great improvement in appearance and in subject matter. The latter has been re-arranged, largely re-written, and brought surprisingly up to date. In few textbooks do the authors have either the courage or the judgment to present properly the latest advances on the subject. Here we find work published as late as 1928, in the use of etharsenol in trypanosomiasis.
