Abstract

Summary

  • 1.  There is presented a case of amebic dysentery with complicating liver abscess and fatal termination, fairly typical in clinical history and course, unrecognized until the autopsy.
  • 2.  The disease was apparently contracted in New York City.
  • 3.  tends to travel through the blood stream.
  • 4.  For identification of the parasites in unusual locations several staining methods should be employed to avoid mistake.
