Endoscopic Extraction of Intraventricular Neurocysticercosis
In this small video clip, we are able to observe endoscopic images of the right lateral ventricle. The first structure that comes to sight is the right lateral foramen of Monro that is occluded by the cysticercal cyst. The cyst is floating freely in the ventricle. A micro grasping forceps is inserted and the cyst is removed. After the cyst extraction, the cerebral endoscope is reinserted to verify hemostasis and the patency of the foramen of Monro. In this case, we can observe an intact and patent foramen of Monro and a normal third ventricle.
