Recent Advances in Tropical Medicine

SIR LEONARD ROGERS. P. Blakiston's Sons and Company. 1928. Pages 1–398. Illustrated. Philadelphia

Chas. F. Craig

The subject of Tropical Medicine has become so broad and the contributions to it so numerous that one welcomes this work, containing, as it does, the most important advances in this subject condensed into a comparatively small space, with the retention of the practical value of the original contribution. The field covered by this book is immense and no one is better qualified to do so than the distinguished author. Needless to say, the book is an admirable addition to the literature of the subject and one that should be in the hands of every student and practitioner of medicine in the tropics, as well as in other regions, for tropical diseases are no longer confined within the limits of the tropical and subtropical zones.

Each subject considered is accompanied by a useful bibliography containing the titles referred to in the text and it is noted that many of these titles are as late as the year, 1927, thus indicating that the work is thoroughly "up-to-date."
