Malaria. Its Investigation and Control

By ROBERT KNOWLES, Major Indian Medical Service and RONALD SENIOR-WHITE, Malaria Research Office, Central Malaria Bureau, Government of India. Pages i–vi, 1–220. Illustrated. Thacker, Spink and Company, Calcutta

Chas. F. Craig

In the Preface of this work the authors say, "It is hoped that in it the worker in the field will find the practical instructions that he may require; how to diagnose malaria in the laboratory; how to treat his patients; when, how, and where to look for his mosquitoes; how to set about and carry out a malaria survey; and what steps to take as the result of the knowledge gained by such a survey."

A careful perusal of the book indicates that all of these subjects have been excellently covered and that it is, indeed, a most useful work for the student and workers in the fascinating subject of malariology. While it is written especially for the practitioners and public health officers of India there is no doubt that it will be found almost equally valuable to anyone interested in the diagnosis, prophylaxis, and treatment of malarial infections.
