Protozoölogy

By C. M. WENYON, C.M.G., C.B.E., M.B., B.Sc. (London). In 2 Volumes. Pp. xvi–ix, 1563. With 565 illustrations and 20 colored plates. 1926. New York: William Wood and Company. Price $25.00

Chas. F. Craig

All who are interested in tropical medicine and, therefore, in protozoölogy, have been looking forward to the publication of this work by Wenyon, and the volumes may be said to exceed, in interest and value, the most sanguine expectations of the many who are acquainted with the contributions of the author upon the subject. It may be stated at once that there is no work upon protozoölogy in this, or any other language, that can compare in thoroughness and value to the scientific worker in tropical medicine, with this work of Wenyon's, and while, no doubt, the professional protozoölogist may criticize it as not devoting more attention to the free living protozoa, the classes of professional men for whom the book was prepared, i.e., medical men, veterinarians, and zoölogists, will find it a mine of authoritative information upon the protozoa of special interest in human and animal pathology.
