Proposed Memorial to Late Dr. Brayton H. Ransom

Dr. Eloise B. Cram, Sec.
Bureau of Animal Industry, U. S. Dept. of Agriculture, Washington, D. C.

A committee consisting of Dr. Maurice C. Hall, chairman, Dr. Eloise B. Cram, secretary, Dr. W. W. Cort, Dr. C. W. Stiles and Major H. J. Nichols, appointed by the Helminthological Society of Washington, has been considering a proposal to establish a memorial to the late Dr. Brayton H. Ransom. Since the nature of the memorial would depend for the most part on the amount of money* subscribed for the purpose, it has been thought advisable to communicate the various possibilities to the friends and scientific associates of Dr. Ransom, with a view to obtaining subscriptions and suggestions from those interested. The following suggestions have been made by or to the committee:

(a) A tablet, to be put up in the Department of Agriculture, or a painting to be hung there.
(b) A medal, to be awarded by a committee, to the person making the most important current contribution in medical zoology.

* Up to May 1, 1926, about $600 has been contributed for a memorial to Dr. Ransom.—EDITOR.
