Manson's Tropical Diseases—A Manual of the Diseases of Warm Climates

Manson-Bahr's text has, for many years, been the standard tropical medicine reference work in areas abroad, principally under British medical influence. Undoubtedly, it will continue to flourish in these areas, although more recently, excellent texts in the English language have been written by American authors.

The thirteenth edition of Manson-Bahr is patterned after its more recent predecessors, although several sections, including the one on climatology, have been omitted. Attempts have been made to present the recent advances in the chemotherapy of the major infections of tropical importance, although the author admits the rapid progress, in some cases, has precluded absolute timeliness in every instance. The therapy of malaria is fairly complete from the historical point of view, and from the fact that most of the important drugs are discussed.
