Production of Polyvalent Antivenin against Trimeresurus Flavoviridis and Agkistrodon Blomhoffii Venoms1
Kenneth F. Burns2
- 1. Immunization of a horse with a mixture of Trimeresurus flavoviridis and Agkistrodon blomhoffii venoms resulted in the production of a highly satisfactory, potent polyvalent antivenin.
- 2. The antivenin titers against both venoms were high and exceeded minimal acceptable potency standards.
- 3. Seventy days were required for hypervenomization and the total dosage injected was 161.1 mgs. for each of the venoms employed.
