The Incidence of Human Intestinal Parasites in Northwestern Honduras1

Mark T. Hoekenga

Results have been presented of a survey of single stool examinations of 5,000 persons in northwestern Honduras, and a comparison made with previous studies in Honduras. Three-fourths of all persons examied were revealed to have one or more species of intestinal parasites on such single examinations. The incidence of round-worm infection and of amebiasis is high.
