This is volume 5 of the monographic series entitled "Schriftenreihe für Seuchenbekämpfung", edited by Prof. Dr. med. Robert Kudicke, Frankfurt a.M. Following a concise summary of the literature on the subject, the author provides detailed information on the melanin flocculation test and particularly his own investigations with a modification of the "malaria-serum-reaction" employing iron albuminate. His text is illustrated with numerous charts of malaria cases, showing the relationship of temperature, parasitemia and serum reaction to antimalarial therapy. On the basis of the findings the investigator concludes that iron albuminate constitutes an outstanding reagent for the demonstration of chronic malaria in blood serum. There is a bibliography of more than ten closely printed pages.
