Report to the Council on the Journal, June, 1923

Henry J. Nichols

The JOURNAL is now in its third year and is becoming well established professionally. The editor's aim has been to make the JOURNAL truly representative of the American spirit in Tropical Medicine and to avoid monopoly by any clique or specialty. It has been supported by most of the established agencies in Tropical Medicine and has also received welcome contributions from unexpected sources. In brief, on the scientific and professional side, with the papers from the Annual Meeting and from other increasing sources, there is no doubt that the JOURNAL can be maintained as a valuable medium of disseminating scientific medicine in the Tropics. Its good standard can even be raised.

Financially, as indicated by the inclosed report from the publisher, the outlook is not so good, but it is improving and eventually, of course, we must be self-supporting.
