Cutaneous Leishmaniasis in the United States

Report of a Case in a Veteran1,2,

Stewart H. Auerbach, M.D.3 AND Ransom R. Buchholz, M.D.4

The thirty-first case of cutaneous leishmaniasis reported from the United States and Canada is presented. All were exogenous. This patient was a returned veteran who had been exposed to infection in the Mediterranean area. The disease responded satisfactorily to radiation therapy.
